Hi guys, can anyone recommend a company that is competent in repairing Mercedes EIS electronic ignition systems?

I'm having problems with mine and sent the unit away to a repairer claiming to be an expert on these systems, but they ended up being monkeys who ended up making the issue MUCH worse, to the point where I strongly suspect the unit may have had its coding corrupted ontop of the original hardware fault (Thanks, Master locksmiths, rolleyes).

I don't want to get screwed over again, especially how most places want to charge upwards of 50 quid simply for just testing the switch, hence asking for a recommendation.

Any advise is much appreciated.

Regards

Stegel

There's a guy on the MB Club forum who is highly regarded for repairing various MB electronic control units - he rebuilt my 124 throttle body - so I would enquire of him: Tony Leach email address is info @ calamy .co.uk

There are a few bits that can actually fail withing the EIS system, or the car itself.

A friend runs replacementmercedeskeys.co.uk and is based in the midlands.

He fixed a mate's W210 E class EIS fault and tested my W220 EIS saying it was working ok.

He then told me of a 2 minute "fix" to actually get the 220 running again!

replacementmercedeskeys.co.uk as above repaired the EIS on my W164 only last Tuesday. Apparently there were two sites on the circuit board that needed repair and it is now back up and running as it should. I can wholeheartedly recommend these chaps.
