When to think of the dreaded headbolt issue?

I had little trouble with my c 63 over the last 5 years nothing apart from servicing really hence I let the warranty expire this year
Since then command screen doesn't close
Battery probably dying...
Now first time since I own car coolant low- and yes my car is pre facelift....
Am I paranoid or should I get the compression checked?...

At least if you get it checked it will let you know one way or another.

When was the coolant last topped up? Could just be age/mileage related.

Has it got a full MB service history? This would allow for the chance of goodwill from MB if there is a problem to do with head bolts.

Hope it is something simple.
