E Class - Windscreen Camera

I recently bought a '15 plate E Class Coupe which has a camera in the windscreen, i assume for the Collision Assist and Auto Headlights.

Due to some damage on the screen when I bought it the windscreen has today been replaced and the camera/sensors recalibrated.

I notice though now that on the inside the camera housing doesn't seem to be flush with the screen, am I losing the plot or should it sit flush as standard?

You're right; it should be flush mounted.
