C300 DE 2015 estate questions

Gents,
Just bought a 300de estate hybrid, almost impossible to find a decent review of the model, all I'm trying to figure out is how the older hybrid system works? Is it like the self charging system in the Toyota's or is it something completely different?
Any real life experiences with this model?

I thought the C300 de Phev was only Launched in 2018.

there was a C300h Hybrid previous to this which was a conventinal Hybrid, (i.e charges from the engine),

Cheers, yeah that's what I thought, the PHEV is the new version.
Put a lot of faith in buying a car on the tinterwebz without a physical viewing or driving it!!!
