5.5 V8 Biturbo engine service intervals (and running in)

Hi all, always been a bmw man and am looking at switching to Mercedes and a 2014 GL63 AMG. Do AMG mercs need a running in service like BMW M cars do? If so what mileage/time?
Also, are the service intervals dictated by the car or are they set ie 2 years or 12k miles which ever comes first? I can't find anything on the interweb.

I'm running an E63 with the 5.5 bi-turbo, I've not seen anything about a running in service but then I bought my car with 21,000 miles on and full main dealer service history. The service intervals are determined by the car's computer.

My G63 had a huge sticker on the windscreen to change the Diff oils at 1500miles, and an advisory not to give it more than 4000rpm up to that mileage. Other than that, nothing to say to the contrary.

Cars with a mechanical diff typically have a 1,500mile oil change. Those with the electric diff (e.g. E63S / C63S don't have this).

I had a 65 plate C63s that needed the 1500 mile service, can’t remember if it was engine oil or diff oil.
