W447 Vito, what to look out for when buying?

First up, was 50-50 between the Commercial Break and the Mercedes sub forums for this post, so if anyone's upset by me talking about vans here, I apologise!

I'm looking for a medium sized 5 seater combi van for leisure/family use, and the W447 Vito looks promising. On my budget I will be looking at earlier Euro 6 examples from around 2016 to 2018, with one of the various 2.1 CDi engines and the automatic gearbox, I believe they're the 7G-Tronic.

Is there anything specific I need to check for on this generation of Vito? Do they suffer any common problems that are expensive and/or a pig to fix?

They're generally excellent. Key things are nox sensors and injectors.

I used to run a fleet of them (about 80) and they cost less pence per mile whole life cost than Ford Custom's.

Cheers, that's encouraging. The Custom does seem to have a poor reputation, especially the newer 2.0 engines.

Any giveaway signs for those particular issues? Or just the usual warning lights or rough running?

Good Vans very handy with the 5 seats and a good bit of space behind them I’ve had mine from new 66 plate no major problems nox sensor replaced if you keep them serviced they are pretty reliable 116 or 119 autos are plenty powerful for most needs

I am on my 2nd having had them since 2017. Key things I would say are spec; ILS LED lights are a must (the halogens are rubbish), and autobox.

My current one has every option available and was £54k new inc VAT.

Nice, but there are some I could go without; the electric doors, climate control, blind spot indicators, dimming mirrors, heated leather make it far less vanny. My only criticism is they are a bit creaky on the dash (both mine have done it) and the nox sensors failed in and out of warrant so I had system coded out / removed.
