Hi,

I've had an engine check light come on for MAf2 - short circuit to battery. If i clear the code, it may last for between 2 and 5 starts and lots of miles before it throws the code again and the light comes back on which seems odd as i'd expect it to illuminate pretty much straight away after clearing the code?

Assuming it's not a battery voltage issue? and i need to replace the MAF, these come as one unit with both MAFs on the OM642 engine and a replacement is £900+ from MB. It must be a common problem as lots of Chinese replacements available on Ebay from as little as £136.99. Has anyone any experience of the non-genuine MAFs? or can provide any advice? Thanks

After some more investigation, it appears that a code will only get thrown after 3 replications of the same fault before it's logged so that clears that up. Does anyone have any experience of the pattern MAFs and if they are ok?
