The command system on on our 2018 V class Mercedes Marco Polo has decided to shut down.

I have researched online and one reason suggested is low battery voltage due to a failing starter battery. Having checked the battery and of the opinion it wasn t the strongest this has been replaced.

The radio appears to come on for approx 15secs then shuts down, again I have tried some of the manual reboots to bring the screen back up with no joy. Other functions on the centre console also inoperative.

Has anyone experience of this and any ideas. It has been looked at by a non Merc specialist / had Snap-on Solus edge OBD with no joy.

I m thinking May need the Merc OBD? If so any recommendations of a Merc specialist inc mobile ideally in Leics.

TIA.

I did come across a similar issue previously on the same vehicle, but I cant remember exactly what the final fix was, from memory we noticed that it wasn't just the radio that was shutting off, some of the other systems on the car were being reduced due consumer protection (typically this affects heated seats if fitted, fan and climate control, its all listed in WIS)

You'll need to make sure there isn't any volt drop on the related control units in the system, if everything is working OK it might be the body control getting a bad reading which your might be able to check in actual values with a decent diag kit. I think in the above example the body control unit may have fixed the issue in the end
