W204 C180 bucking/lurching when trying to accelerate up hill
Discussion
Hi all,
I need some help and advice, I got a bit of a project car in the form of a 2013 C180 estate (S204) with the 1.6 turbo petrol engine and 7G auto gearbox.
I've fixed various faults and done a full service on it including gearbox oil and filter however there is a fault that remains.
When accelerating hard, especially in high gear low rpm situations, it will sometimes very violently cut the power and the whole car will buck. It's most evident when you're already cruising at a constant speed and you gently roll into the throttle - like trying to accelerate up hill. It almost gives you whiplash.
I thought a gearbox service would cure it, and it's definitely made the shifts smoother in normal conditions but it hasn't fixed this problem. The old ATF , filter and magnets all looked to be in good condition.
I've resorted to only driving the car in S mode, which has made it more drive able, but it still does it in this mode too.
I'm not sure if it's a gearbox issue, or engine issue and I don't know how to diagnose it. There are no warning lights on. Wondering if it might be something as simple as engine mounts, or more complicated like a turbo or boost related issue?
Anyone got any suggestions on what to check next or similar experiences?
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah probably better to move it, I messed up!
When I got it, there was a bunch of codes and check engine light, I cleared them and have driven over 1000 miles and no check engine light has come on. I can scan it again, but assuming there won't be any unless the CEL is on.
