I'm a month into E350 CDI ownership so not an expert by any means but from what I could gather when I looked, oil leaks can be expensive to fix, suspension components are fairly common place for requiring replacement, brake lines also worth looking at at this age. Mine needed the rears doing and this was done by the dealer as part of the purchase.

Other than that, it's just the usual stuff I guess. As I said, I'm no expert but I'm really enjoying mine so far. Good luck.

Rear subframes. If they have not been done they will likely need doing.

Apologies, I hadn't checked back. Yes, all good. Averaging 39mpg, nice and smooth, rides beautifully and ever so quiet inside. I got here after 4years in a MK3 MR2 so it's quite a difference for me but I'd looked at them in the past and then found mine for a decent price at a Merc specialist, who I have to say were fantastic to deal with.

It's quick enough when needed and sounds really good for a diesel when accelerating hard.

Happy to answer any questions you have.

I guess they are pretty heavy on tyres, brakes and suspension components. When I was looking for mine and checking MOT histories, a lot were showing worn suspension parts and tyres.

Where abouts are you located?

I bought mine from a place in York, I'd highly recommend them and not too far from you. Happy to send you details if the one you're looking at falls through.

Just checked the MOT history on mine and it's had a number of suspension components over the last 5 years, so obviously this sort of age is the time they start going.

That looks great, hope it treats you well. The Halfords issue is frustrating but sortable.

Enjoy the trip.
