So, just signed on the dotted and have bought an A35 Premium Plus to be delivered early next month. £7000.00 of the list price helped in that decision.

We got an extended test drive and mrsrlw really liked it and I was quite impressed too. Only other options were an S3 or Golf R, both rejected for various reasons. It's replacing a Scirocco R.

I'm not looking forward to working out what everything does and I think it's going to be a steep learning curve, Any tips?

Great shout, they're a pretty well sorted little car these days. Make sure you pair up your app so you can send routes to the car etc!

Share some pics when it arrives!!

Congrats!
I too have taken the plunge on an A45s with all the bells & whistles - 6k off list plus the low apr finance etc.
I only strolled in to the dealership to take a look at a CLA, I fancied looking for a 3 year old one but had never even sat in one.
Spotted the deal which basically put me in a brand new hatch for the same monthlies as a 3 year old CLA - kerching!
Picking up next week all being well

Funny isn't it. We were definitely looking at used cars up to around £35k and walked out with a new one. I'm still amazed that it happened as mrsrlw was not really in favour of changing cars anyway.
I suspect that being given the keys to a brand new car and being told to enjoy yourself for 24 hours is a very effective ploy.

I've had an A35 leased for the last 5yrs. Think I may keep it for another year. I like that it's really quite understated yet it's got quite a bit of poke and poise in S+

Only issues I've had in that time:
- slight leak from coolant pipe
- worrying red lights on dashboad and loss of power steering - happened 3 times in space of 2mths, started this summer. On all occasions power steering came back alive again within 10mins, although during two of the occasions I had finished my journey and came out after a break to check. The other time it just came back to life again - quite unnerving.

Thankfully, it seems to have been fixed by a factory recall (power steering related).

Have managed to get 12k miles out of the original front tyres. Which now need changing.

Good luck with it!

My first thought also.

Oh the disappointment! smile

My dad restored an A35, which less than a week after he sold it ended up on its roof. They fell over if you even showed them a picture of a corner - not something that could be said of Mercedes' version, as I'm sure rlw will be happy to confirm shortly...

Congrats, they are great little cars! Its only once I'd left working for MB that I realised how much I enjoyed my occational fuel runs and test drives.

The current finance deals make them very much a temptation, especially when used car finance rates are simply insane.

The early cars did have a few issues but they were pretty quickly ironed out. When the facelift came along they became pretty sorted other than the frustrating synthetic sound thing. Its totally unneeded, it still sounds somewhat decent from the outside.

Any questions you have about it then fire away! Always happy to relive my sales days! BB

Mind if I ask if that was a one off showroom model or if it's across the range? Also what figures did you get?
Reason I ask is I've just bought a 22 plate M340i and am not gelling with it, just thinking (like yourself) new could work out as much, if not more cost effective and I do quite like the A35

If you search new cars on the Mercedes website it will come up with 6 x A45s and 41 x A35 currently available.
£6k off the 45s & £7k off the 35 both with 4.2apr deals plus a couple of free services. I was told the deal was on until end of September.

Think there is a “2026” model being released soon so they are clearing the decks, but I may be wrong.

This. The dealership found one for us. Our's is a cash deal but still with £7k off list.

They seem to be trying to get shot of all the A-classes they have. Maybe a new one is on the way but, presumably, a hybrid of some kind.

So, about five weeks into ownership - MB buggered up the registration so we had to do it again - and I've yet to do 200 miles. Loving the car but running in so I've no idea how quick it is yet.

It's one Hell of a learning process though. Many many things I've never had, or needed, before and all controlled from a screen or haptic controls on the steering wheel. Basically, I've just left it in factory spec and I will discover what's what as I go along. I'm not sure that I can even use the main beams.....

Only criticisms are the seat could go a bit lower and tyre noise is very pronounced on bad surfaces, but no worse than a 964................

Glad you are enjoying yours.
I have now done 2.5k miles in mine and love it, if I was going to complain about anything it would be that there are too many crossovers, vans and city cars on our country roads….
If you got the AMG Owners Experience at MB World included its definitely worth doing, I did mine on Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
