Mercedes VIN Decoder
Discussion
Hi all
I have just picked up a 2020 C43 and I'd like to see exactly what it has got fitted to it, because according to the brochure I have, a towbar is not available, but this has a factory fit, retractable towbar fitted.. I have tried some of the VIN decoders and it doesn't come up.
Has anyone used one that works for a more modern car?
TIA

Hi, I've never managed to find a Merc one that works but the dealers have been helpful, always managed to get a build sheetI have just picked up a 2020 C43 and I'd like to see exactly what it has got fitted to it, because according to the brochure I have, a towbar is not available, but this has a factory fit, retractable towbar fitted.. Thank you. What would I need to ask for in the dealer, a build sheet? Should I ask parts or service?TarquinMX5 said:
I've no idea about the decoder but are you sure that the towbar was factory (or dealer)-fitted? Many AMGs were not homologated for towing but I have read about owners having them fitted, including some that didn't require cutting the bumper.
Yep. It is retractable, and the button to release the hitch is in the boot lid. I don t even know it was there when I bought it. If it is not factory fitted someone has spent a *lot* of money retrofitting the factory towbar.Megaflow said:
