Bought an Eclass back in Nov which came with 19inch alloy run flats. Between now and then, I’ve had to get every single alloy repaired due to cracks. Some twice. It’s been a nightmare. Anyone else had this issue and Any advice on replacing them and where can I get them at a half decent price. Won’t buy brand new.

It's a well known issue with the run flats unfortunately - the 20" wheels are even worse (guess which I have).

Most people say the only real solution is to get smaller wheels or swap the runflats for normal tyres. I'm planning on the latter.

Suppose the risk is it not working and being left with tyres that don’t do the job…

Same issue with my 20inch...then I changed to normal tyres and its transformed the car. I don't fear every dip in the road anymore. The ride is now how an E class should be, no hard knocks or BANGs every time you hit a small dip in the road. They are much kinder to the wheels as well, as run-flats are rock hard, and therefore transmit much more force to the wheels = Much increased risk of cracks.

Of course you could say more of a pain if I get a puncture....but I've only ever had one of those in the past 11 years....I'll take that risk than rather putting up with a horrible ride and risk cracked wheels every single day, on the off chance I "may" get a puncture once a decade.

Also, don't be afraid of welding if you get a crack, if the place is reputable it will be as good as new, and only about 100quid. Had mine done in September and done thousands of miles since, mostly motorway without an issue.

thanks

Are your wheels of the design in the photo below?

I have these at 18 inch size with conventional tyres.
During 3 years of driving through a few deep potholes, no problem yet.
I try to avoid as many as possible.
