2019 GLA Comand 5.1 reboots
Discussion
Odd one...
Mrs BS has a 2019 X156 GLA with COMAND NTG 5.1 (according to a decoder site).
It has a very annoying habit of reseting / rebooting randomly. Mrs BS has whinged on about it for a while... a very long time, but I never really noticed / didn't bother me. Until the other week when I had to drive it.
OMG it drives you insane. If the radio is on, then that continues playing, but if you've got SatNav on, or playing music via phone or anything like that the screen goes blank / music stops whilst it reboots.
We're talking a couple of reboots in a 10 min journey, it doesn't appear consistent. I haven't figured a rhyme or reason, other than it might be steering wheel input related, but that just might be my test drive. It always comes back online, it just reboots with the COMAND warning screen.
I don't think it's a fuse as nothing else is affected, although I haven't checked, from my brief drive I was trying to diagnose whether it was a loose connection / bump or steering wheel input related... No idea.
Anyone any thoughts, or seen / heard anything similar before I have to go and spend some $$$ trying to get this diagnosed ??
Thanks

oooh random update... I was having a google and asked ChatGPT, it said check the connectors in the boot (damp ingress etc). Checked, no damp, wiggled wiring / connectors with engine running no reboot.
Went in and bashed the side of the dashboard / console and hey presto it rebooted on demand.
Not sure I'm brave enough to take it out though to check connectivity. You'd think that if it was a dubious connector at some point it just wouldn't come back on, but what do I know....
