When I initially bought the car last year the lights worked fine, and progressed, or regressed into getting the warning on the dash every time I drove it.

Recently as its started to cool down here (Australia) the lights have started to work, a few times anyway, self tested and aimed fine with no warnings, so its obviously nothing terminal.

I know its a common problem but it there a way to do a reset or something as the system obviously works fine. Ive reset with a code reader and ultimately they throw the fail code soon after. Ideally Id like a fix as a used one is a grand AUD and a new one 3400 AUD tongue out

If you haven't already tried it, and I doubt it will make much difference anyway, but if you access the menu and set them to 'right side' traffic (ie wrong way for rhd car), use that for a short while (should then see the intelligent light function inoperative message), then back to 'left side traffic'. Only a few minute job, no cost. It might reset something. Or it might not wink

It does, however, sound more like a fault with one of the components.

Thanks for the reply. And as of to prove a point today the left right aim (the part that normally throws the fail code) was happily spazzing out today for a good 20 seconds. I’m even more confused now
