Sudden non starting merc e220 diesel bluetec
Discussion
Hi all , after driving normally and parking up overnight my car would crank but not start the next morning. Garage suspected injectors and replaced all 4 and nothing changed. Car will start and run with easy start but if I turn it off I have to use easy start again to get it going. Only problem I had before this was a 2-3 second rattle on startup.
Any ideas anyone please ?
Thanks.

If it runs fine once you've got it started I'm guessing it's got air in the fuel lines and running it on easy start bleeds the system so then it keeps running. Once you've got it running does it then start fine again straight after you turn it off?
I'm thinking a leak that's letting air into the system slowly over time.
Try to find a bleed valve somewhere in the fuel line to see if it's got pressure when it won't start.
Google reckons the bleed procedure for them is to leave the ignition on for 5 minutes to let the low pressure pump fill the system, does it start if you do that?

If it's not showing any fault codes it could be anything then. I think you're going to need a proper Mercedes specialist to look at the values of everything whilst it's cranking otherwise it's just going to turn into replacing random parts on a best guess.
This, but it points more towards the glow-plugs or fuel pump from the description.Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
