As above, the dreaded message. No lock out but an MOT faiure. It seems that only a Main Dealer can reset? I am quoted £228 for "diagnostics" PLUS £228 to recalibrate/reset.
Is it me or is this extortionate?
Do other Marques have similar problems and ensuing costs?. he car is only a W205, so hardky "luxury".

I replaced the battery some time ago, and was showing 12.1V.I charged it to "Full" on the the smart charger. If the problem was slightky low voktage, would the message generally remove itself?

I would appreciate any help or thoughts, thanks?

Unfortunately, this is modern technology for you, however, it's not unique to MB.

You don't necessarily need to have a main dealer look at it but you almost certainly will need someone with access to Mercedes' STAR diagnostics, so most likely a Mercedes specialist. They'll probably be a little cheaper, but not always by a lot, depending what you have done and where you're located.

The diagnostic fee you quote is about normal for a main dealer, a specialist will probably be a little less for that.

If you don't know a decent specialist locally and don't have any joy on this thread, you could try asking on here:
