After driving home past Classic cars in Sheen last night i have started thinking about a classic car again. I love the look of the Pagoda, from a quick look at prices it seems the 280 is the one to buy. Is this renowned as the better engine and therefore more desired car?
thank you

I too am looking for one (has to be LHD). All I can say is that there is a lot of tarted up rubbish out there! Saw two at a certain SW london classic car dealer over the weekend..£32k and £37k...both just tarted up!

Look at this site for some amazing quality cars (US based though!)

My parents have one. Truly beautiful car. Drives very well. Engine pulls everywhere in the rev range, smooth manual 5 speed gearbox and very comfortable suspension. And of course gorgeous sound from the exhaust!
I'd say buy one but do not ever be tempted to skip on maintenance. Then the car will last the rest of your life if you so wish. Very good quality but being 40 years old the mechanics will have been rebuild at some point or at several points in it's life. Don't bother going for a specific one of them, buy the best you can afford and keep it in top condition!

You won't regret it smile

chelsea cars has plenty all POA
Bund,

the one pictured is only for sale at the right money, the guy has every receipt and every bit of paper work since new - he is a true merc nut which does plenty of maintenance himself

he said to sell it it would need to be a serious offer, im thinking he want 40k and its only a 230 not the 280

Is the 250 worth more than the 280? Was the 250 a ltd run?

No, but it didn't have a lot of torque which was why they increased the engine capacity quickly. I have a coulpe of books on the Pagodas, you can and I think should buy a couple of books on the Pagoda (amazon has them) before buying.

As a complete Pagoda Newbie can someone please point me the direction of any cheap parts sources? Or is everything on these cars MB Maindealer only?

Many thanks in advance.

Try Cedric at Roger Edwards motors in Wembley. Sorry, don't have the number to hand.

I have their number on lots of receipts as they have done huge amounts of work on the car in the past. In fact,
the late Roger Edwards himself did a complete engine rebuild on the car and it has only covered about 7K miles since.

Thanks!
