i have a 2006 C320 CDI estate which does not have any gearchange paddles on the steering wheel and to be honest i miss then as my last car had some ,can they be retro fitted by anyone ??? been to see my local dealer but they recon it will cost alot of £££££££ . thanks Simon

Others have done the mod to the existing buttons (although it is a CLS)

It helps if you have a spare steering wheel I guess. But looks ok as the electronics only know there is a switch for up and one for down exactly hoe that switched got activated is irrelevant to the electronics.

Thanks for the info , i don,t actualy have any buttons either the only way to manualy change gear is with the leaver !! its a bit of a pain !! just wondered if they could be fitted afterwards ??eg wether the wireing is there to connect too .

I read on one of the UK Merc forums that it wasn't possible if you didn't have any paddles, which would mean it is possible but very expensive.

thats what i thought if the wireing is there and you just need to fit paddles it would be a pretty easy job !!!
