They must have a sense of hummor with pricing like that, did they use the think of a number , double it, add £500 and multiply it by 3.712333 rule ?

I know when they quoted me originally for work on my previous CLK 55 I burst out laughing, but then negotiatied a huge amount off!

Mine hits the rev limiter so quickly & easily it's tiresome

That would seem excessive for someone to plug a laptop into a diagnostic port and tap some keys?

What does it take? 5 mins including booting up the laptop?

Rob at DMS is your man. He done an ECU upgrade, Full De-Limit and smaller pulley on the supercharger on my SL55 all for around £2800 if I remember correctly.
Awesome power increase... just over 600 bhp now !
Haven"t tried top end run yet, to bloody fast.

ive heard theres no tires available for the sl55 amg that run at 200mph with 2800kg on them from the cars weight

Not sure as I was quoted for all my work together, ring rob is the best advice I can give and he will quote you for the de-limit.
Not heard about the tyre problem tho ! will check this out.

An SL55 weighs 1950kilos ish and in standard form will only do 195mphish
Any tyre rated at 186mph will be fine running at 190mph, although where you could manage this, even in Germany, for any length of time I do not know.
I run Mich' Pilot sports which have many times run at over 190mph at
Bruntingthorpe with no problems at all.I doubt an SL55 with 600bhp would
reach 190mph at Brunter's, but look forward to seeing you there to give it a try.

Presume this limiter kicks in at 155mph - what part of the country do you live in, as I would love to move there if you folk get tired of being "limited" to just 155mph!
