C class - dashboard lights failed - help

I have a '96 C class and the dashboard lights have recently failed. It's not the lights in the instrument binnacle, they are all still working. It's the illumination for the switchgear, heater controls etc.

From the owners handbook I can't see any mention of these being on a separate fused circuit. Am I missing something obvious or is there another solution?

I'm guessing it could be the backlight bulbs. I think there are 2 (left and right sides) but I'd be surprised if they'd both go together.

I'll try and check the manual later, it might be in the handbook.
