Hi guys,

I've had my SL55 for a few days now and absolutely love it. I have a problem where the car seems to lose power and behave like a N/A car (well underpowered) for a few minutes at a time and then returns to normal for a while. I've read on other forums that it is a problem with the intercooler coolant pump and you can have it replaced at Mercs for a revised unit. Does this seem right? Also if anyone has had it done under warranty how long does it have to be in for?

Thanks

Saul

hi

Normally on the SL55 the Air pump that cools the supercharger dies of power , on the E55 it is the Water cooler pump for the Supercharger that dies, had the same problem on my E55. Replace which is gone and it will run better then before.

i replaced it with a standerd one as there is not much differnce , unless you racing a lot.
i spoke to DMS who turned my car and they said it wont make much difference.
it cost around 170 ish. easy to fit will need a ramp , unless your in birmingham we can do it for you.

Hi Asman0161,

Yes I had the car done at a Merc dealers, it was the Supercharger coolant pump. All is fine now.
