modified sl55 vs std sl65

how do you think the performance of a modified sl55(smaller pully,remap ect to about 600bhp) would compare with a standard sl65?
im currently looking at both models but every review i have read has basically said the 65 has a bit too much power,or more importantly torque to lay down from a standstill/through the twisties but the sl55 gets good reviews for its cross country pace.pretty sure the 55 handles this all better due to the supercharging being more progressive on power delivery than turbocharging.wanting to know how a 600bhp sl55 would stack up against the 65 and if the 65's brakes can be fitted to the 55 without modification.
another thing,how easy would it be to modify the 55 to be a permenant hard top?i would like to do this to ditch the weight of the roof mechanism then get rid of some of the toys and save some more weight,ideally drop it to 1800kg or less.
