E Class TD

MY uncle is currently looking at Mercedes TD Estates, around about 1999. Looked at a couple of 320s so far, and since I'm "the car person" he's called me for advice. I know nothing about Mercedes, so wondering if anyone can tell me what to look out for? What goes wrong, and what sort of price you'd expect to pay for a decent one?

Rock solid engines, good for mega-mileages. Watch out for rust.

I think most estates are hearse like
