Will do, DMS claim another 40bhp and 40 ftlbs of torque, we are having a batch of cars done so we have a job lot price,

Well honestly I could not feel the difference .... a chat with DMS shows what a quality outfit they are, the car goes on the rollers on Monday to check against the mapped cars output, for free

if it shows 550 bhp I will pay else not

Hi Gareth, an extra 40 bhp will only reduce your 0-60mph .1-2sec and 60-100mph time by .4sec so 0-100mph down from 10.2sec to 9.6sec I would say. Not something you would readily notice.
You would need a Race-Logic Performance box to to establish the exact difference.
Hope all goes well on Monday.

Mark.

What's the latest on this?

l'm considering getting my SL55 DMS'd although l'm concerned that if l go for their Stage 2 with pulley change it will invalidate my MB warranty - any views?

That would be a fair gain from just 40hp.

Yup, I'd be surprised by that much of a difference in the 0-100 time, not done the math but I imagine the difference in bhp/tonne is not that great.

Had been toying with this idea myself, but think I'd be better off chipping the Golf GTI from 200 to about 250 for about £400, will be a much more significant and noticeable increase for probably less than half the price of the DMS job.

I've read that you need to increase engine output by >10% to actually be able to feel a difference, which sounds about right to me. On the SL, I'd venture that it's not really worth spending the coin unless you go for a pulley upgrade and remap (ie. +90-100BHP). A lot of money (I think I've read £3,500+, which sounds pretty outlandish to fit a new pulley and flash the ECU, to be honest), but at least the car would most certainly feel a bit quicker. Trouble with the SL is it's so damned heavy.

I had the pulley upgrade and ecu upgrade done on my SL55 (90 bhp + 90ftlb torque) + full de-limit and can confirm that the difference is very noticable.
Have since sold my SL and am now driving an 07 Gallardo spyder (520 bhp) and my SL was faster in a straight line after the upgrades!!!
Thats impressive cos the lambo is no slouch.

It was £2800 + vat for the SL55 but I did have 3 cars done in total on the day so you would have to check with mike at DMS now for price.

How did you get on with the car on the rollers? Did it make the 550BHP?
