I am trying to change the front pads on my '99 SL320. How the bleeding 'ell do yo remove the 2 retaining pins across the back of the caliper.

It has the 4 piston calipers with 2 pins across the back which hold the pads in and the spring plate.

Many thanks

i have had some dealings with merc brakes in the past and i myself have had hours of fun trying to get pad ret pins out
mostly these pins are tappered at one end, and are smaller in diameter and also come to a point are usually siezed in plenty of wire brush and e/oil is req
also a flat headed stout punch is req on the pointed end of the pin one good solid swing from a 4 pounder usually move them mind yor fingers
