Ive been looking at a 1999 Vito 2.2 petrol. Any opinions most welcome.
Good van, but they do seem to suffer with rust and (the diesels at least) are a tad pricey to fix!We are still using one of the previous generation Vitos at work (2001, owned since new), 170,000 miles and its still going strong but rusty!. It's had a new starter motor and boost sensor (for the turbo) in that time so not bad really.
Can't comment on the petrol variants, but I bet they're heavy on the fuel. The diesel versions struggle to meet 30+ mpg (well they did with me piloting anyway
)If you can stretch to it, I can highly recommend the latest generation as it is MUCH better built, nicer to drive, RWD, choice of body lengths and better MPG.
You really need the V6 diesel one with 204bhp
