went for a short test drive in a c63 earlier today. Fairly impressed with the power and made a wonderful noise but a little disappointed with the manual part of the auto box as it doesn't allow you to completely take over the gear changes. Tried to change up when pootling along and it wouldn't allow it until the car was up to a certain speed. Strangely enough it appeared to be more willing to let me downshift at higher speeds!

Does anyone know if mercedes are going to be coming out with a double clutch box of any sort?

Hi cho,had my c63 for about 9 months now,the reason it wont change up is if you do not have enough revs for the next gear, changing down is ok.Have been speaking to DMS about a remap, the doe the engine but also put in the clk black series gearbox maps, which they wreckon makes a big ditterance..

thanks for that Daz. Had a chat with the merc dealer who didn't know much about the cars at all! The only refernce i got was from a US merc forum mentioning a transmission software update. Will give DMS a call to see what the package offers. Obviously will be better to have the new MCT gearbox but nobody knows when that will be out

cheers for that Bo! Have to try and get rid of the RUF now! A bit undecided about Cayman or C63 but the C63 does sound amazing. Even more amazing is a two year old Cl63 for about £70000 which cost about £130000 new. Should be able to get a few tousand more off that. You must come in for lunch someday. Will e-mail you my phone number.

Cho, was that your RUF at 911Virgin?

If so, did you go for the C63 in the end?
