2.6 190E Odd running
Discussion
Hello guys, first post and unfortunatly its a problem. My beloved 190 is running a bit oddly.
I recently (September/October) had a stainless exhaust system fitted to the car (non chavvy, just cheaper than a genuine part and only slightly more than a Bosal or similar, but with a lifetime guarantee!) and I am very happy with it, seems quieter than standard. When it was first fitted I noticed a slight difference in power delivery, it seemed to have lost a bit of go below 2500 RPM but then took off as normal past that point. I dont know the ins and outs of back pressure but could a decrease/increase of back pressure cause this? My opinion is that the difference is too great to the fault of the exhaust, just seems to prominant from the configuration which I specified needed to be very similar to standard (3 boxes etc)
However I can't help but feel the problem is just an unfortunate conincidence with the exhaust as I am fairly sure it has worsened overtime! Along side this I occasionally notice a slightly rough idle when sitting in traffic.
Im hoping that the problem is not one of the fuel pumps packing in although I've seen a car with this problem and the associated stalling does not occur, it never gets even close to stalling but could this just be a warning sign?
Sorry for the essay, and thanks in advance for any advice!
Cheers
Karl
