Help - car 5 hrs away - can anyone run a MB history check?!

I would be more than eternaly grateful - am looking at buying a car unseen, probably not the most sensible thing to do, but I've got a feeling it's a good 'un.
Is there anybody out there who has access to the MB computer system, who could run a chassis number check for me, just to see if the car has actually seen a dealer since the 90's (it's an old 'un!). I know the system can't give detail on older records as the system was changed some years ago, but just a 'yes it has been through dealers workshops 24 times' would be fantastic.
