c63amg warranty work
Discussion
just had my c63amg front brake pads and disc changed under warranty it had only done 8500 miles.
if i had 2 pay it would have cost me nearly 1500 pound 2 fix.
also on my last c63 the leather seats began 2 wear on the side bolsters after about 8000 miles which they also changed under warranty which would have cost 1200 pound a chair and they changed both.
just wondered if anyone else has had any work done.

I had warranty body work carried out on my 2002 SLK32 AMG last year around the usual common places (under back wheel arches and the boot area just above the number plate where the lock is). It had only done 25,000 miles. They were reluctant to do it and the guy at the dealership tried to sell me the new model instead.
However, I persisted and they authorised for the work the be carried out.
It was delivered back a week later with the paint work not buffed up and still sticky. After my complaining, they did take it back for a few more days to try and rectify the problem but it still came back well below standard. I had also been told that all body warranty work is guaranteed only for a year which just sums up how bad the quality of repair is!
Never again! I think I would prefer to choose where I want it repaired and take a chance and pay for the work instead of paying for a Mercedes dealership worthless warranty. At least that way I know it will come back something of a standard I would expect.

[quote=DAZAMG]My c63 seat has started to go on the Bolster, did not think it would be covered under warranty. Will be heading into see them as soon as I get back in the country..
how many miles you done in yours mate?
my new c63 has also began 2 go at the bolster again which has covered 11000 miles i took it in yesterday had it serviced and the chap in service took some pictures of the seat said he will send them off to the people at warranty.
also another word of caution if you have a performance pack on your car is that it needs its dif oil changed at 3000km, i had no idea until i had a letter from mercedes saying it needed changing at 3000km my car had done 11000 miles.
had it done now but could have been real messy if the diff had packed up.
salesman never told me wen i picked up the car.

spoken 2 the chap at service and they have given the go ahead for the seat cover to be replaced.
did you get a good deal on the b200cdi,i have a b180cdi for the wife that im thinking of replacing with a b200cdi but with the spec i want it list at just over 30k even with the upgrade offer.

My C63has the Performance Pack and I'm on my THIRD steering wheel. Given the cost of the PP which the rather nice Alcantara steering wheel is part of, I expected it to be perfect but the first two steering wheels had little ridges in the suede part. Luckily, my dealer agreed and replaced it twice when to get me a perfect one! And what did this cost MB? Each wheel was invoiced at over £1k +vat!!
When you're saying your seat bolsters are going, what is actually happening? My car has done 5.5k miles and the bolsters are starting to look worn with creases. It's not bad enough to complain about yet but I reckon it's look a lot worse when it's done twice the mileage. The design of the seats means you always rub the bolsters when getting in and out no matter how careful you are.

Same here - had it not been for the sticker in the window and the advice in the handbook, I'd never have known. Even the two MB dealers I spoke to about this had NEVER had anyone ask for that diff oil service - and one of the dealers was MB Central Birmingham who are huge! They had to contact MB HQ to find out what I was going on about!had it done now but could have been real messy if the diff had packed up.

All in all, a pretty poor experience in relation to the specifics of the PP-equipped models ....for instance, you'd never get a BMW dealer wondering what the hell the 1200 mile service was on an M-car!

hello palmball im sure you brought the c63 from birmingham central i was this close to buying that car. it was a brilliant spec with only the carbon fibre interior missing from the options list.
with the drivers pack have you been to germany or did they send you to brooklands for your free track day?
you should go and show them that there is wear on the bolsters and they will make a note of it or take a picture of them and send it to mb warranty if they say yes then you have a certain time to have them changed so when you go in for next service they will change them then.
how you getting on with the car?/quote]
Yes indeed I did buy that very car from Birmingham Central. It was spec'd up to about £61k with every option except CF trim and they had it up for sale with a £4.5k discount. I had no intention of buying that one as I wanted a white one and, as my next door neighbour is the salesman at Mercedes of Loughborough I was going to buy a new one from him! I only went to Birmingham as they were the closest to me with a demo car! Anyway, they talked me into it with a another £3k off the price - given it had only done 30 miles when I first test drove it I thought that was a fair price lol! How they made money at that price I just don't know but I was only prepared to pay a maximum of 5% less what I'd get a new one for with just the spec on that I wanted so they either sold it to me for that price or I didn't buy it.
I absolutely love the car; compared to my previous e92 M3 it's an animal and the sound...well, you just couldn't tire of it! It definitely doesn't handle as well as the M3 but in all other respects, I genuinely think it's the better car.
However, I do slightly regret the purchase - had I been just a little more patient I would have realised the PPP pack was coming out and I would have ordered one of those. I'm actually seriously considering selling my current C63 and ordering one with a PPP but it all depends on how much money it's lost!
Don't start me on the Drivers Pack - firstly, the dealer told me I wasn't entitled to the driving day as I wasn't the first owner. When I challenged this and said that as it was paid for (and the dealer hadn't used the driving academy course) I should be entitled to it. They agreed, I bought the car and....I'm still waiting for the details. In fact, the thought of this has riled me up again that I'm going to ring them tomorrow and give them some more grief!

you got a very good deal from them. i dont think you will lose much money on it if you sold it soon the good thing about that car is that it has the ppack which in comparison to the ppplus is a bargain £3210 compared with £4999 + £1570 for the limited slip nearly £7000 for the 2 and they have also taken the sport suspension off.
i am also thinking of going for the ppp but will test drive one first to see the difference in performance considering you can get a dms upgrade for about £500 which can take it up to 530+bhp and torque to 500+.
