W202 bucket seats - advice needed
Discussion
It's not really clear what you mean.
Do you intend to replace your existing standard seats with w202 sports or AMG seats? Or do you intend to fit seats manufactured by a third party?
In either case I would have thought it relatively straight forward, subject to a few qualifications.
If you wish to fit Mercedes-Benz sports or AMG seats, they will have to be from a 202 (obviously there is a difference in rear seats between estates and saloons, but the front seats are the same). It is quite difficult to replace manually adjustable seats with electrically adjustable seats. The door trim is different, you need the wiring looms and you need to fit them (not easy) and you need the control unit. If the new seats have the orthopaedic function it will be almost impossible to fit this, although the seats can still be used in all other respects. Likewise heated seats. I am not sure whether the bespoke seats on the C43 AMG were available with manual adjustment, I suspect not.
Third party seats will fit if spefically manufactured for the w202 or supplied with a fitting kit.
Generally removing seats is not that difficult. Disconnect any electrical connections (usually there will be at least one connector per seat relating to the seat belt buckle) and then unbolt them from the floor. The hardest part is getting them out of the car! Install in reverse.
