The rears (Pirelli's all round from new) on my C63 Estate lasted exactly 6K miles, I purchased the car as my "everyday car" to do 25K miles per year in so wasn't happy. My previous car, a C55 Estate, I got about 15K from the rears.
I had a "constructive chat" with my MB dealer, and was offered a set of rears (same Pirelli's) foc from MB UK which I accepted, they said the tyres were a very soft compound and that a harder compound tyre was under development.
Mileage now approaching 10K, looks like new tyres all round required soon!

Just placed an order for a C63 estate. MB offer a Care Package + Tyres at £55 per month on a 24 month/40,000 mile package.
If the rears are only lasting 4-6k then this must be the bargain of the century as the cost cover all consumables (tires, pads, disks service, oil etc) for the period of the term.
Anyone taken this?

Yoko's? I have to assume you didn't buy the car from new (I don't remember seeing that Yoko had OE)?
Yoko are regarded as a mid-range tyre at best and lots of dealers have kicked them out now due to very poor wear life (4.5k...?) and poor support.
Simple choice for me, Michelin Pilot Sport 2, I have them on all mine.

they did put yoko's on from the factory and conti's on the c63's,
the conti'swere a bit more hard wearing
but even with them we struggled to get more than 5000 miles out of the rears.
the yoko's were specially made for the c63 for a better grip and handling but came with a softer compound.
to be fair i don't think any tire would fair much better the car just seems to eat rear tires.

As AMG Master says they definately fitted them as standard, mine came with them although a couple i have seen since have come with different tyres.
I have to admit though the grip has been very good. I think the problem is the torque and the fact the car wants to breakaway given the chance.
Not sure if anyone can verify but i was told that the other reason for the poor wear is the camber of the rear wheels, they are set for higher speed stability?

5han I have asked the dealer to clarify that. In the C-Class price list that advertisied the C63 and the Plan together it doesn't mention an exclusion for AMG vehicles. On the MB website it does. THe dealer asked the service manager and he said that the plan will extent to AMG very soon.
4.5k miles out of a rear set - I checked mine at 5k miles which was a big mistake as the inside edges were down to the tyre structure beneath the tread! I'm actually quite ashamed at this as I'm normally very fussy at checking tyres but I just didn't expect them to go so quickly. On my previous cars, an e92 M3 and a BMW M6 I got 7-9k miles and that included at least 1 trackday and a trip to the Nurburgring on each set - the C63 hasn't been near a track yet!
I went for the same Yokohama's Advan Sports to replace the factory fitted ones but only so they matched the front tyres. Next time, when I need 4 tyres, I'll probably try the Conti's (feedback on Conti Sport Contact 3's anyone?) and see what effect going up a tyre size to 265/30/19 (rear) and 245/35/19 (front) will have (again, anyone tried this?)
