Does it have one (my car is a late 2005 model)? I can see the drain plug but all I can see which resembles a filler is something on the top of the box which looks more like a breather plug.

The service book says it is due a transmission fluid change and the Merc dealer did give me a price which suggests the fluid does get changed and isn't a sealed for life unit, but where is the filler?

If it's anything like the earlier cars, you fill it using the dipstick pipe.

Could be. There is a loose plug in the top which looks like it could be a dip stick. I was a litle scared to pull it out in case I broke it.
