Help on SL 500 (1993) convertible hood

HI Guys
I need help on a problem for a SL500 convertible.
The switch doesn't release the hood, has to be done manually.
The soft top doesn't respond to the switch and has to be raised, lowered manually.
Suggestion of the answers to problem or pointed towards an independent Merc specialist in York/Leeds area.
