Central locking problem, C Class estate
Discussion
Last week or so I have heard a sound from inside the rear passenger side door like a ratcheting sound. It lasted for about 3 secs.
Yesterday when I tried locking the door using the remote control the plastic door pin went up and down for 3 secs on the rear door before finally stopping in the locked position. The other 3 doors are fine and work well.
Today when trying to lock the car all the doors lock with the pins going down except the rear passenger door which won't lock although it will self lock when driving along.
Any thoughts on how to fix or what it could be before I start taking the door panel off?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like something is sticking.
Without knowing which model/year, I am guessing but there should be a C shaped piece of plastic around the lock mechanism on the door. Undo the screws to get the mechanism out and see if you can free it. You might need to clean and re-lub this. Hope this helps, it's all from memory.

This "bouncing" is a common problem. Try ringing your local MB dealer and he'll go "aahhhh!".
You need a new actuator. 67 quid when I did one last (about a year ago).
Easy enough - hardest bit is taking all the trim off.
Don't waste your time trying to repair it. It won't work.
