CLS 500 hirecar
Discussion
well, 2 days in and wow, what a car.
Frankly I'm still undecided on the looks but blimey its pretty quick, has all the toys and sounds good.
In the full sports mode it really flies.
I've had some very fast cars in the past but this in a similar way to the rs6 feels quite effortless. i cant imagine what the cls55 or 63 feels like!!

The '55 is an awesome bit of kit and well worth trying out. It is a definite step on from a 500.
Looks wise I think the CLS is as good as they get compared to similar sized cars, yes it's a bit of a marmite car but for me that adds to its allure. I am currently trying to justify not buying one in favour of the E55 (yes I know not as good looking a car), and told myself if I can't find a good E55 then I may as well spend an extra £10k or so and get the CLS instead. There are also some relatively inexpensive mods that can be added to make the '55 even more impressive. Interesting to hear your comments reference comparable performance feel with your old RS6 as I still keep looking at them, but if I bought one would feel that I should have bought a '55 instead, certainly from a performance perspective, which in my cuurent quest for a next cr is near the top of the list of priorities.

Yes I've seen the E55 in the classifieds and yes it does look to be a beast. As nice as it is though, for that money I would prefer to buy a CLS instead and then spend a couple of thousand on the basic mods to improve performance futher.

Craig I went from Ultima to SL55 AMG its a great carhave a few cars but this is the best all rounder & the one my 'head' would keep, can be some enormous bills though best with Merc warranty I'd say.

, its a given, although I am being tempted by that other forced induction german weapon and also some other old no doubt fragile Italian horse shaped kit
