Hi all,

Due to an increasing knocking and some vagueness around the straight ahead I had a good look over the 43 last weekend, and with some help from Silver Star, I've diagnosed a worn Droplink assembly on the merc. So I'm going to replace it and do the damper and pitman arm bush while I'm there.

GSF lists all the parts, but not whether they're for a particular W202. Some other places I've found (US based) list a droplink assembly for everything except a C43.

Can anyone tell me with confidence whether all W202's had the same basic steering setup and any droplink assembly will fit?

thanks!

All W202`s have the same basic steering mechanicals - a more conventional steering rack didn`t appear until the W203 cars .

The recirculating ball set up was definately recalibrated for the C36 and C43 over the C280 on which it was based , but I don`t know if the drop link itself is a part unique to the upgraded car .

Your best bet is to ring teh parts department of your local Merc dealer who will give you the parts number of the drop link for comparison .

Superb link!

I used to use realOEM for my BMW, I'm glad there's a merc one too.
