Just ordered my 2nd C63 AMG!!
Discussion
I've just sold my current 2009 C63 AMG with Performance Pack after getting a good offer on it and have spent a lot of time trying to work out what to buy next!
I've already owned an e92 BMW M3 and a BMW M6 but for a number of reasons, I much preferred the C63. There's just something very special about having such a big engine in a smallish car and it just feels and sounds like a modern-day muscle car.
After trying a Jag XFR (a great car but just not the right image for me and too big) and a used Aston V8 Vantage (lovely looking but thats all it had going for it...I though it to be underpowered and very poorly built against the C63) I decided on yet another C63 but with the Performance Pack Plus. With nearly 500bhp and the fancy engine internals (forged pistons, lighted conrods and crankshaft) it's going to be a monster!
I think I got one of the last allocations before the summer and should get it late next month - I've even opted for the factory collection to get the best experience and I can't wait!

Funnily enough, before I considered selling my current one I arranged a VIP tour of the AMG factory in Affalterbach - I go early next month and am combining it with a trip to museum and the Geneva Motorshow!
Very fortunately, I sold my car having quoted an extra couple of thousand miles on the clock and not available until mid-March so I've got my current C63 for the trip - it'll be a good final drive in it.
Ironic then that I'll probably be going back a couple of weeks later to collect my new car!

congratulations on your new car did you manage to get a good deal on the new 1 and what colour did you go for.Very fortunately, I sold my car having quoted an extra couple of thousand miles on the clock and not available until mid-March so I've got my current C63 for the trip - it'll be a good final drive in it.

also how do you arrange a visit to the amg factory?
The deal wasn't brilliant - I tried lots of dealers and many wouldn't budge from list price. With all the bits I wanted, the car was over £66k - in the end, the dealer I got my first one from gave me 5.5% off which means I still paid over £60k for a C-Class (albeit, a very special one!).
To arrange a trip to AMG, simply email them and ask them if you can arrange a date. Explain that you own an AMG and supply your chassis number. They agreed to the first date I suggested but I did give them 4 months notice! The email address is 'visit-amg@daimler.com'
Now, colour! I've taken what I feel is a big risk by going for Calcite White (I love white cars) with the Sahara Beige interior. I really hope they go together; I've seen a few pics of other Merc's with white / beige combo and they looked good. I just wanted something other than black inside and wasn't too sure on the grey as it extends the colour onto the dash so I plumped for the Beige which is just the leather facings that are coloured. I've also gone for the Designo leather dash which should make the interior look lush - I just wish they gave did it with contrast stitching but it's all black!

i think you are taking a massive risk with the beige interior especially with the white, come resale i think you will take a massive hit i have a white c63 with black leather which goes really well with itTo arrange a trip to AMG, simply email them and ask them if you can arrange a date. white with black leather
ppplus
lsd
19in wheels
designio dash
command
harmon kardon
parktronic
reverse camera
dab
carbon fibre interior
tpwire
fire extingiusher
i wanted keyless go and panroof but they are not available for the uk but they are available in europe
also i think the exterior carbon fibre pack would look amazing on a white c63 carbon fibre wing mirrors rear carbon lip & front lip and lower rear diffuser, i think that the exterior pack might be available under special request.
Yes, I wouldn't mind coming and seeing yours - I'll PM you my details and we can arrange.
I know the colour is a risk but I've had black interiors in my last 2 cars; previous to that, I had a white e92 M3 and I spec'd it with a red leather interior. It went very well! The colour combo I've gone for is much more popular abroad - I've seen a few pics of MB's in the US that are white with Beige. I guess the British are much more....traditional?
My current one sold for just under £50k which I am very happy with. I got a reasonable trade-in offer but a person that I know from a BMW forum approached me with some interest; I ended up selling it privately for a bit more than I got offered as a part-ex but it also meant I could negotiate some sort of discount off the new car without needing to worry about getting the best trade-in price at the same time. I got a better price and he got my car for a few grand less than a dealer would charge so I think we're both happy! I've still got my car for another 4 weeks too.
It seems we've gone for exactly the same spec - I think the only things I haven't gone for that you have are the Fire Extinguisher and DAB (my current one has both and I never use either...well, obviously in the case of the fire extinguisher!).

you do know that you can have designio leather for your interior as well i was going to have red leather for my c63 with white at the back of the chair its on the amg site under the maufactur program and the dash is black leather stiched with red stiching i think the cost was 5700 euro + taxes. i think that would just be stunning but were do you draw the line.

I think your choice is flawless. Quite frankly if I like a car I buy it. I'll think about resale when the time comes.I think I'm going to cancel my factory collection! It is in Bremen, which is nowhere near the 'Ring or Affalterbach, 2 places I wanted to visit on the trip.
PLUS, I'll get the car quicker delivered to the Dealer!! Go figure!!
As much as I wanted to do it, I think it is just going to take too much time to get down to Stuttgart and the Ring on that trip. I think I'll leave that for another trip when I really have the time to enjoy it.

Jack - you weren't going to take the car on the ring before running it in were you? You seem to have waited a while for your car - did your supplying dealer not have any allocation available to them or confirm this at time of order?
I've just had my build date confirmed as the 30th March although I did make sure the dealer confirmed they definitely had allocation in March's build slot (the last C63 build slot for RHD before the summer apparently). I do hope the collection date isn't too much after that!

Have they provided you with any dates as to when you'll be able to collect it?
Now, showroom tax! A very good point and nothing whatsoever has been mentioned to me about this. Thanks for reminding me of this; I'll be asking them tomorrow. Has your dealer said anything to you about it (although you're probably guaranteed to miss it)?

Surely the price quoted is the 'on the road' price which has to include the first years tax??
It will be including road tax, but every order has a clause statitng that the price is subject to change in VAT/Tax etc. On a C63 it will be £500, plus the £400 rfl and £55 1st Reg Fee.We've got an unsold C63 with the PPPlus and Extended Leather Dash being delivered on 26th Feb, so if you want to see any pics of the leather dash etc. just let me know. AFAIK it's the first one being delieverd into the UK with the new PP and the Leather Dash.
By the way, as risky as the White/Beige combo sounds, I think it will look stunning. That said I wouldn't order it on a showroom car because I need to cater for a bigger market, but it may just help sell your car come re-sale time....there are loads of White/Black cars out there, so yours will be a little different!
Well done on the colour combination. Personally I think it will look great. And at least it is different. It is a shame Mercedes do not offer a wider range of paint finishes and upholsteries: it would be nice to have some of the rich non-metallic colours back together with velours, so much nicer than leather!

Yes, I would love to see those pictures - in fact I wish I had known an unsold one was available before ordering mine as I might have got an even better deal
. I tried so many dealers and none could either do me any sort of deal (except the one I bought from) or could get any allocation! What colour combo is it?My dealer have now confirmed that I do not have to worry as my car will definitely be registered in the UK during March - they must be very confident of the build date I guess. Not quite sure how they can guarantee this but they have so I'm not complaining.
