SLK 280 Engine - a bit 'tappity'...

Just bought a 280 SLK, done 9.5k miles and there is a bit of faint tappet noise. Is this usual, or very unusual? An experts offer a bit of advice?

I don't know much about this engine, except that it's a 3 litre V6. Does it have hydraulic lifters?

I have 4 days left to reject the car if this is likely to be problematic.

My R129 280 sl v6 was totally smooth with no tappet noise from new until i sold it.
