Keys and stuff

Hello,

This might not be an appropriate question for a public forum so mods feel free to remove if it warants it.

Anyway here is the situation:

- I am transplanting the running gear from a C36 AMG into my 300SL
- Is the key somehow 'married' to the ignition barrel or the ECU ?

Essentially I need to know which bits I need to carry over from the donor car.

I think so.....the key is coded to the ecu, so you will need the loom, ecu keys and transponder ring from the donor car too.

That is ok I have got the whole car, makes the job slightly more irritating but not too bad.
