R129 SL500 and child seats?

I am looking at buying my wife an Sl500 probably of R129 vintage, do they come as standard with the rear small childseats or were these an option? Are they suitable to fit a modern child seat for a 2 year old child in?

Lastly can someone point me in the right direction to a good buyers guide and owners club website?

AFAIK the rear seats were optional. Again, AFAIK, they are OK for rear child seat fitment if they have belt mountings. You may find useful belts on the Securon website

The rear seats only have lapbelt fittings....bear that in mind when looking for a childseat that fits....

The lap belts prevent child seats in the rear. However, I hunted on Ebay for a transceiver that disables the airbag on the front seat and that worked a treat.
