SLK whats it worth?

Just been offered(as a part ex) a 1997 SLK230,75,000 miles red metalic(not the best colour?) black leather,slight dent on front wing,fsh.It looks fair enough but this shape now looks very dated.Guy values her at £5K,i was thinking more like £3.5K.Opinions please.

I've got a clean 50,000 mile 1999 slk that I reckon is only worth 5-6k so I think correct price for one you are looking at is maybe 4k tops.

(and the word isn't 'dated', it is 'classic' or perhaps 'timeless')

Autotrader suggests you can buy one of that vintage with similar miles for 4k from a trader... Depends if you want an SLK or not really, but the other person's SLK isn't worth what they're hoping it is. You'd probably get £3k for it as a private sale if you wanted to shift it quickly...
