Mate is looking at an 07 ML63, the vendor has just told him it has a thing called a sprint booster under the accelerator.

From what i have seen its an electronic throttle. i never really heard of sprint booster, anyone know anything good or bad?

It does not add any power, it merely changes the accelerator pedal angle to throttle angle curve by amending the 'drive by wire' profile, thus giving a more sprightly throttle response.

Whereas normally you might need to use large pedal angles to obtain a specific performance, with a Sprint Booster you need smaller angles - hence the vehicle feels quicker even though the engine power output remains unchanged.
