Anyone know if it is possible to get these to auto fold when I lock the car? The car is a 53 plate.

If your car has that option it'll be in the "convenience features" section in the settings menu on your intstrument cluster.

Haven't got that feature setting.

yea think it was option, my old 03 car didnt have it but my current one does.
think another way to tell is if you have the button at the bottom of the gear stick that folds the mirrors in when your driving....

Yes I have that. I can fold the mirrors but keep forgetting and just wondered if it could be programmed to just fold like my ML does when I lock the car.

My R230 folds them in... I found the option in a menu, of a sub-menu, under another sub-menu of the instrument display settings screens.

Might be in your handbook too. I'll find out where the setting is when the car's defrosted a little later!

Right, meant to type this last night, but went to the pub and... well....

Mine's a 54 plate R230, not sure if the instrument cluster display on yours is exactly the same, but:

- Engine on, or with key turned at least 1 notch round
- "Settings..."
- Scroll down to "Convenience"
- About 5 items along, you'll get "Fold in mirrors when locking" - just choose On or Off

I've found the menu system to be the most counterintuitive POS I've ever used, and so frustrating when you accidentally press the wrong steering wheel button and have to start all over again. Also in this menu should be options to dip the N/S mirror when reversing, leave headlights on after engine switching off, locator lighting (presume this means to leave sidelights on all the time) etc.

HTH.

Thanks for that.

I looked through the settings and I don't have it, I don't have the speedo MPH/KMH setting as well.

Next time I speak with the dealer I will ask if there is an OS upgrade to put these settings in.

Glad it not just me then. I've had a 54 plate E Class for six months now and every time I start digging around in all the menus it's like the first time. It really is counter intuitive.
