locked out of c class

my mate has just been round and he is locked out of his 53 plate c class.
the remote is not doing anything , neither is the key
any ideas chaps?

what the key blade wont go in the boot or door?

the key will go in the door but nothing happens when he turns it

Strange iirc a 203 C class is mechanacly attached

I assume it is the correct key i belive it should turn 90 degrees and pop up the button

Is the battery flat? can you get in to the boot?

not sure if he has tried the boot. he is now waiting for the aa . cheers for the help

i asume he has tryed opening the car via the infra red sensor on the drivers door handle?

yes he tried that. aa guy seems to think it is a flat battery

he has managed to get in the car , now going to jump start it

he left the car unattended for a week in the car park. i told him to put a new battery on it but he reckons a good run will sort it , well he hopes anyway.
