Just purchase GL 320 have to say very good road manners, fairly quick but even for a diesel very thirsty it cost me £130 to fill it up frown very well spec'd DVD nav, Bluetooth phone, media package DVD at rear etc what it didn't have is the tv function or play DVDs in the command system.
What Id like to know is can I do anything so that these features are switched on?

I'm guessing it doesn't have the TV tuner fitted to COMAND, it's an option, and not available on every model. Did you buy it new?

no it was used but just assumed that as it has dvd base sat nav then the command would play dvds also i also thought that as it had the media package it would have had a tv tuner but it may have been disabled by the factory as the option was not specified.

another query is that the rear dvd player on plays official uk dvd's is there an unlockable function so that it plays all region dvds?

The TV Tuner is a single option, and consists of a separate box (not a cheap one if I recall correctly). I believe it was a four figure amount to have it retrofitted, which convinced me to get a GL with one already fitted ....

That's fine what about the DVD option?? Or does it only play the navigation DVD?

Not got a DVD to hand to test it but I'm pretty sure they only play through the optional entertainment pack, which on my late 2007 car consists of two screens built in to the back of the headrests, remote control and a DVD player mounted under the right hand seat in row 2. I seem to recall trying a DVD in the COMAND unit and getting nothing.

yes steve thats the exact set i just assumed as the sat nav is dvd based then the command will play dvd's.

how are you finding it any way steve i think that they are good value for money considering what they are new and the amount of kit you get.
