I am giving serious consideration to buying a CL once my SVX expires so would like to know if the facelift 2003 differ a lot from the earlier model. Does the AMG cost a fortune to run? I'm only doing about 5000 miles a year as I have a modified RX7 for trackdays and other driving needs. From my browsing so far I know shock absorbers can be an issue as can electrical gremlins but I would only use an independent to look after it anyone got an average cost per year for maintaining them?

do your research - these cars can cost a lot. i've had mine less than a month (CL65) and its cost me about £2500 so far - its in the garage with a coil pack issue and ABC problems which will cost another £3k or so to sort!

further to previous posts, yes, they are very expensive to maintain, but seem to be very hard to move on when the time comes to sell also.

my friend whom is a car dealer is pulling his hair out trying to sell a cl55 at the moment...
