Bought one of those little keyfob cameras off ebay to use on trackdays and thought I'd test it out.

Taped it to the back bummper of the Merc and drove home.

It really needs to be watched with headphones on to get the bass sound from the engine. Sounds terrible on a laptop or mobile divice.

Not a bad little device for £6!!

This is the one.

There are lots of sellers selling them, but I picked this one from Hereford. Turned up in 48 hours.

I think he sells some with the micro SD included as well. I just used the one out of my phone to record this clip.

Just bought one.

Where on the bumper did you mount it?

Surprised at the clarity!

Just taped it with Duct Tape to the flat bit on top of the bumper just below the boot lid. Nothing scientific, lol.

Going to try it on the back of the Cayman next time we get some dry roads. And then try it on the front bumper, right at the bottom for some ground skimming footage.

You are making it very difficult for me not to buy a C63 next year, funds permitting.

Fascinating stuff Jack and along roads I know very well.
By the way if you had 'switched on' a little earlier we could have seen the fence where
Saha wrecked his Ferrari!!

Could you link to the ebay seller (as the item you linked to has been removed)? Very interested in one of these biggrin

I contacted the seller directly.

[quote] Dear v8will,

Hi William, thanks for the message but it turns out that it is apparently against ebay policy to sell spy gear on the site, even though it is perfectly legal, and they removed our listing a few days ago, so I guess it is just a matter of time before the other ones are removed frown We seem to be the only seller that has been affected, which seems very unfair, but we are already a silver standard top rated power seller and on track for becoming gold rated at the next review so we don't want to jeopardise our account by relisting them! If you ever want any more in the future though then please feel free to contact us directly at discountedtoyou@gmail.com and we will be glad to help.
Seems to be a very decent chap. Contact him directly.

Same item and same supplier (based in Hereford) but that one actually includes a 16gb microSD card as well. When I bought one it was just the camera and I used my own card. But £27 for camera and 16gb card seems pretty cheep to me!

Hey guys, this is the M.D. of Discountedtoyou here and I got an email off Jack directing me to this thread so I thought I would comment seeing as I am already a member! Yes unfortunately the cameras have been removed and by the looks of it we are still the only retailer that has been affected - eBay have removed one of our listings for the cameras as well as the listing for the 4GB version and one other spy camera clock that we also stock, so as I said in the previous message, I guess it's just a matter of time before they remove the others frown
We currently have around 150 in stock so if anyone wanted any you could either buy one from Amazon on the listing B004PFLLQS (Please don't complain about the postage prices - Amazon set them and we can't change them, hence selling the cameras themselves for about £4 cheaper than they were on ebay with free postage!) or if you wanted to buy one directly for £8.50 including postage then please just email me directly at discountedtoyou@gmail.com. We can also do the camera and 4GB card for £15 delivered, 8GB for £18 delivered or 16GB for £25. These come with our own custom written insturctions and troubleshooting guide, and for the <1%ish of unlucky customers that may receive a faulty camera, please just contact us and we will exchange it for free!
