wipers stopped working--- W124 1994 320ce

my wipers suddenly stopped working half way through a shower today
the screen washer and wipe function has also stopped working

the wiper blade is now parked on the passenger's side , ie on the opposite to normal

the hazard lights and the 2 mainbeam functions which are operated from the same column still work as normal

any advice gratefully received

check for dodgy relay in fuse box next to left hand side bonnet hinge - cannot remember which relay it is, but i think its the long oblong shaped one in the middle.

these seem prone to 'dry joints' - i have taken mine out and resoldered the pins as they were showing signs of cracking.

if this does not cure it then head over to the www.mbclub.co.uk forums and someboidy there will know where else to look

I would check the fuse, too.
